The Dink Network

Everyone's favorite giant bag of hot air, VonZeppelin, went night stalking and skewered some Night Tiles to share with the cult. These tiles are like normal tiles, except they are nightish. In fact, the tiles aren't just a bit darker, they also capture the purple tint of night.

I thought some night tiles would be nice after an earlier dsicussion on the boards, so I went at it and made these... If you like them perhaps I will release sprites to use with them.

I like them. Release sprites.

NO NO NO NO this is a giant waste of time you dont need to go and change the colors of every single tile and sprite in the game you just need to make a new 256 color pallette and use the load_pallette command and all of a sudden all the original dink graphics are magically already conformed to the pallette. there is no need to change the color of every single graphic

But Josh, that wouldn't work in true clored or windowed mode. I don't know about you people, but I mainly play in windowed mode reason being that I'm consistantly talking, I/Ming, or multitasking whenever I'm on the computer. Back to the file, I'm not sure I like the look of the water, and a sample dmod would be nice and would also reduce the filesize I think... but everything else looks pretty good.

There is a pallet made for this (What Josh is talking about) on the DN already. Check out this file. And also in SimonK's Belgotha Graphics is an example of the pallet changing.

I like these tiles. They give you the opportunity to make an D-Mod in a dark territory or in the middle of the night. The only cons I can see is the water seems little strange and a readme file would be nice

Some positive comments here, so I guess I'll download them and check them out.

Right, I will get started on them and perhaps a small practice d-mod to show them off as well.
Man, I need this time to work on my contest d-mod though- after that I can get to work on these.
