Since i am 5 years with Dink i know how to do most things i just wanna ask 2 questions. How to make screen go dark in dmod and how to add graphics.

Make the screen go dark : fade_down();
Add new graphics : This is complicated... Download Dink Smallwood v1.08 and check the DinkC reference (Dink.ini section).

And welcome to The Dink Network.

EDIT : Basically, to add new graphics you need to add BMP files to the GRAPHICS folder of your D-Mod, then you need to load the graphics with Dink.ini.
And by the way, the Dink.ini section in the DinkC reference is titled 'Depth Dots and Hardboxes'.

EDIT 2 : The DinkC reference file for v1.08 is 'Dink.chm' and it is in the develop folder.

You're welcome!

And um... You'll need to use fade_up() to turn the screen back to normal.

Ah. Well, you might make a good, short D-Mod in a few weeks if you're really good... But it usually takes months to create an Epic (EDIT : and even creating a good Quest can take a lot of time). If you have a lot of free time and are talented, you could make a good Romp in a few days, I suppose.

Good luck.

You might want to check the Development downloads, there are quite a few useful things here, especially WinDinkedit/WinDinkeditPlus.

You may also want to download the D-Mod 'Dink goes Boating', which has a tutorial mode.

I'm glad someone is creating a new DMOD.

Plenty of people are creating new D-Mods, but few actually release something... or should I say, something good.

I mostly pick music from other D-Mods, but there are also a few websites where you can download music for free... Sometimes music from other computer games. Other than that, it's up to your personal taste, I guess.

There are plenty of midi packs you can download on this site. Also, for a website http://vgmusic.com/ has a wide variety of game music.

Well my no 1 piece of advice is: "Never release your first DMOD."

But if you've got experience already this might not be neccessary.

In a sense this is my second attempt at my first dmod which I never finished and am revisiting after trying to do another one but deciding not to, but doing quite differently to last time. Does that count?

metatarasal why would you never release your first D-Mod. It's verry usefull because when people review it you know what you've done wrong and you can do it better next time. I've learned a lot from the Treasure Battles so my next D-Mod is going to be MUCH better.

Because most of the time the first one you make is crap. Atleast mine was...

You really don't want to download that!

Oh I think I get what you mean because I did the same with a D-Mod called test. But I can't call something like that a D-Mod.
