Buy the clawsword, contribute your levelup points on attack and to be sure, buy elixirs and use them in the fight to restore your life if necessary. And be careful the dragons don't touch you, that drains the most life...

Better than axe == lightsword and clawsword? The firebow is also pretty handy.
