Fear not! While the March Download of the Month did not appear at the normal time of the month, it was probably due to some sort of hormonal disturbance rather than... yeah. The extended metaphor stops now.

Anyway, there weren't too many files to choose from:

House Graphics
Mutant Kitty
Zach the Marine

Hmm... is it considered selfish to vote for your own file? I mean, whenever I think of doing it I feel really selfish.

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.

Well, I do it but in the end it never turned out to be the winning vote to make the difference between an award or not. What I personally find selfish is, is only voting in a DOTM/DOTY when you've got a file of yourself involved (and not in other votings). So I try to vote for categories as well (like the DOTY) but I don't always get around to download/play all files/D-Mods of a certain month..

if you think yours is best, vote for it! if you don't think it's best, vote for something else!

Can't argue with that.

It does amaze me that only a few people vote each month, or even each year - out of all the dinkers that are active

Hmm, all the dinkers? There are much less than 100 now, right? DinkFan only has 38 members or so...

Aha! What about adding an "active" (logged on last two months or so) column to the contributors list?

I think the majority of people, including myself, are too lazy to be bothered with DinkFan, or really anything outside the Dink Network.

Though I could be wrong.

I'd kinda feel stupid for voting things I haven't played, and maybe others have the same idea, so I'm sure that explains some of the non-voters.

I always vote in a poll. And I always try to play the dmod's that are nominated or the graphics files or what so ever I always check them before I vote.

I also voted on my own dmod in Januari. Just because I really liked my dmod. It was my first one. SO I was a little proud on it.

And about the people who vote. I really think that the votes are almost every month of the same people. THe most of the people are just downloading dmod's and do nothing more. And they have an account for there questions containing a dmod. And they do no reviewing or developing. They only play dmod. My opinion it is good that there are a lot of players (and not much developers) because developers have no time to play they only create. And the dmod players are playing the dmod's who are developed by the dmod creators.

Hmmm, if only roughly 12-15 people vote each month - who are they?

I'm usually one of them - who else is going to fess up?

I'm with Sharp here. By the time I've set aside time for experimenting with Dink files, it's too late to cast votes for them
