Mr. SimonK has birthed two new graphics packs for budding D-Mod developers: Legend's Tale Dragon and Moa - Female Winged Goddess. As for the birthing process... I wish SimonK never sent me that video. I mean, it wasn't so much a birthin... wait...

Great work as usual... now if there were only people to use them in a good Dmod, kind of stagnant of late.
P.S. Reverse the links.

Good graphics packs both, again. Keep up the good work Simon. You've done quite a bit of it lately! Good work!

Actually I did these over a span of a couple of years.

I started doing Legends Tale's graphics back in 2001 I think. I backed up a few of them to CD over the years and then deleted them from my laptop.

Then when that DMOD got cancelled I found my backups missing, so Kyle emailed me what he had, and I backed those up. Now I'm unbacking up and releasing.

I thought of doing one big pack, but then... maybe people just want a dragon, or some debris and don't want a phoenix, or a gryphon... so I decided to release as individual packs.

Still to come....
Water/Leviathan creature with
Evil Plant
Demon
Kitty (this will take a while as I may have to re-render from old blender files

And then there is another set of sci-fi walls I did which requires the fix-up adjustment work I do for graphics rendered out as 24 bit targa and need to be made for 8bit bmp dink palette. Hmmm... they are nice walls, with animated arcs of energy inside circles.

Plus... let's see - Joshriot has aksed for the phoenix with blue flames...

Someone else wants a half female/half slayer with full walk, crawl, push, idle, magic graphics - and while I kinda like the idea of buxom female melded with nasty reptile... that is a whole lot of graphics... and I'm trying to think of someone I've done this for who has actually gone ahead and finished the DMOD they were trying to create...

Iceman/Morpheus/Jamie - I did Spike - DMOD not done

Sabretrout - I did Moogle - DMOD not done

Kyle/Tallis - numerous graphics - DMOD not complete

Hmmmm.... not a high success rate.

And again very nice graphics. Particularly the Goddess. Very nice.

keep it real
you should ask for demos or something before making people graphics, cause that is not right.

You're the best at making 3D graphics for the purpose of DMODs. Why should you be surprised that graphically incompetent DMOD creaters would want you to create their original graphics.

Still, I think people should atleast make a Romp or a Mini-Game inclusion with the graphics they ask for.

Sorry for such a big demand of graphics, but I can't currently think of a good story/plot for a DMOD with Dink as the main character

Hmm... maybe you could make your D-Mod using the existing Dink graphics? Then, once SimonK sees that it is complete except for the graphics, maybe he'll be more apt to do the graphics?

Hey now there's a concept... I kinda like that.

If he likes it, he will sprite it.

Um..exactly how many dmods has Xanthos
made anyways?
Since he seems to have deemed himself an
expert on 'good' dmods,I'm assuming he's made a few...or maybe just one really good one?
or a so-so one? anything at all?

He made a relatively mediocre one (better than mine, though). The profile is misleading.

This is a sensible way of doing things, but I do see a problem. With some d-mods (in particular an alternative hero d-mod), it may not be vital to have the graphics early on, it does help a lot.

For example, if somebody was making a d-mod with a moogle/mog thing, but had to use Dink's graphics for the whole of the d-mod's creation... it wouldn't be very easy to get a "feel" for the character, y'know?

But I agree, it must get pretty annoying to make all these lovely graphics, only for the d-mod never to get finished (sorry! ).

My copy of Paint Shop Pro just arrived... ver 8.1 (and yes I know there is a version 9 - but that don't run on my laptop)...

ebay... what a place.

Anyway... I've just rendered off a test of modified phoenix with blue magic sparkles for Joshriot.

PSP 8.1 has layers! Yeah!!

And I've got a little something else brewing now... might be done before the months out... have to see.

As for trial graphics... what about one bmp for each direction for walking, one for hitting, one for... nah... what am I saying - even that is a lot of work.

Ah... can even do legit animated gifs again...
Here is blue phoenix test...

Yeah really cool phoenix,
I agree I should present you with the DMOD before you make my graphics but SabreTrout's right, you can't get a feel for your character. Maybe a comprimise of walk graphics (but i suppose that's too much in itself) would give enough feel for your character. I really should learn to use blender but it's hard to get into.
