Anyway, Michael Jackson might be the best of crappy-ass pop, but that's like beating my dick with a hammer as opposed to cutting it off. I won't argue with you about music though, as I said before, our musical tastes are so completely different that it is pointless.

I don't really participate in music threads, but this time I have a lot of time on my hands, so.. here goes...

Like, um, no. Metal (and Rock also) is not dead. Metal is cool. I don't care much about punk, but it's still better than hip-hop and techno if you ask me.

Why is Rock/Metal better than the others mentioned? Simply because of the diversity. (within the very same song!) Just take one of my recent favorites, "Nightwish - Ghost Love Score" and you'll find so many different musical patterns that by the time you reach one that has already been in the song, you've forgotten you've already heard it. While Hip-Hop for instance is just the same small beat/tune over and over while someone is talking. And techno's/trance's "trademark" is to repeat their stuff over and over again.. meh. It makes you get tired of a song within a week's time. And yes, I said within, not "at least until a week has passed".

Glenn, that's amusing.. you post a post about not correcting you if you don't post bad, and the post you posted about it is full of errors. *hehe*

Punk for the most part is dead, since it seems to have gotten progressively pussier, and most bands that are putting out albums are simply reliving their past glories. Indie rock isn't so much dead as it is going nowhere, since most of is just random mixes of disco, punk, Television (the band), Joy Division, Gang of Four, Pixies, and Sonic Youth. Sure, that is a pretty big list, but they usually "progress" by putting in more elements of the others.

Like I said before, hardcore-influenced metal really has the potential to be the great music of the decade. It has a large stable of excellent bands and they have differences between them, giving them potential similar to that of 80s punk bands (which was easily the best decade for the genre).

Shut you mouth Phoenix, Its better to write some words wrong or to be fabulous and listen to the stupid O-Zone song... It should be Gey-Zone

I mean I can understand why different people like different music...so many people listen there must be different types. Though getting into arguments with others is fruitless...what are you gonna do change their minds? The only purpose is to feel your music is better than theirs. Seems the record company's are the only winners...they have customers that will buy whatever drivel they produce as long as it gives the customers enemy's to make based on their choice of music.

However, I feel its better online to speak your mind rather than hold your tongue. We could use more stuff on the DN and no one seems to mind a flame now and then. Besides you people make me laugh.
