Spank The Monkey
Ok, here's something I saw at some other forum but we're here into bananas and such, so here's a post as well.
Spank The Monkey
The idea is to hit the monkey as hard as you can.

That's nothing, I had 404 mph.
Addictive game.

How fast is your PC? I've got a 1,5 GHz. When I tried it on a 333 MHz I could hardly get 300...
Man oh man, I couldn't even break 400 mph. It must be old age. Er, then again, with a computer speed of 400-ish, perhaps I like magicman's explanation better.
I remember back in the days when 66mhds and 7mb RAM would do the trick. I've got Windows 95 running on a rusty 486 with all that I just mentioned. You wouldn't beleive how often it crashes. Anyone remember those 5 inch floppies? The ones that actually are floppy?
My spank the monkey score is:
999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 light years per mili-second.
(Would I lie to you?)
The trick is to move the hand on to the monkey, the flog it, a you have more speed when you start. If you do it from where the hand starts, it's hard to get a real good score.

Yes.
Anyway, I remember 8-INCH floppies. Wow. Also, those tape spindle thingies. I've seen those (Never used 'em).
Yes.

They might have been 8 inch. I guessed cause I can't be bothered to do it myself.
Do you also remember comps without a harddisc? Wow! Those were the days!
"I've got Windows 95 running on a rusty 486..."
Rusty, eh, you've never used a DOS before, have you? I was condemned to one of those 486 buggers until the glory of a new computer had been bestowed upon me. My high score on STM was about a year ago, it was like, 685 (The secret is to jack the mouse speed up and use a ball mouse)

Wow!
I thought you left the network nearly a year ago, Amoebalord!

All you have to do is start some topic about Bush or the War in Iraq, haven't you learned that yet?
66mhds and 7mb RAM
Wait wait. I missed this earlier. First of all, nobody made 66 MB hard drives. They made 60's, but no odd-numbered 66. Second of all, it is infrastructurally impossible in the technological world to have 7 MB of RAM. Can't do it. Here are the integral numbers that add up to 7: {1,6}, {3,4}. While 1 & 6 may work out, they would've been SIMM's, which must be installed in pairs. Therefore, neither combination would work. Impossible.
Another thing. Is your 486 an SX or DX? I had Windows 95 running on a 486 DX flawlessly. It took, I think, about 50 seconds to boot to login. It even came with a copy of MS-DOS 6.22. Yay.
Binirit, I remember those days. Hard disks make things MUCH easier: I had the main boot floppy get corrupted once. Shame on me.

I got 852. But it's a lot funnier to try to spank the monkey as slowly as possible. I got 42 mph.
I actually HAD 848. But it involved a bit of cheating. I'll post it if you want.
And yes, mouse sensitivity seems to matter too. Didn't experiment on that one.
Lowest STM-score: 52 mph

For further clarification, if by "odd number" you are referring to the odd-and-even system, 66 is not an odd number; any number divisible by 2 is considered even, whereas all other numbers are odd.
I just felt like being an ass. I have nothing worthwhile to contribute to this discussion.

I suppose odd-even has something to do with that.
