This peasant-noble thingy. It sucks, for the only ones not peasants are the staff. Why not have it based on board posts and released files instead?? Like giving 1 point for every board post, and from released files depending on the score. Like if you release a dmod that ranks 5.0, you get 500 points. Anyway, despite anyhting you might babble about point whoring whatsoever, the undisputed fact is that the ranking system sucks.

Yes it could be improved. I think some sort of status based on winning DOTM and DOTY for each category could be a way to go... I think redink1 was looking into this at some point.

Yeah, I was/am looking into it. I believe I had a good plan, I just need to find it and implement it.

But I would much rather work on finishing Initiation or a couple developer tools before working on it.

how about everyone starts at 1000 points. whoever asks for x amount of points will get -ABS(x) points. then people will see who the real losers are.

So how's it going to be? I'm woefully resigned to being way down on the totem pole, but I respectfully request the star be a perfect purple, or piercing pink, or vivacious violet or lovely lavender, or...but please please not boring brown! Even garish green is better.

It might as well be gold. If he changes the color, he's going to change it for everyone, and I sure as hell don't want a purple star (though I admire Tal for having one ). It must be the desire for individuality...

I don't really mind what colour my star is. But if I could just change my class from "peasant" to "wench", I'd be so much happier.

I would like to be changed from "Peasant" to "Stereotypical British Bad-guy". And I don't want a star, I want a fish.

I'm not picky about color, but wench sounds better than peasant.

This is similar to the French 3-estate system which sparked the revolution. The clergy was estate one who had all the power, the 2nd class was the nobles, and the 3rd class consisted of the peasants. There were those who were the top of the 3rd class yet were upset they couldn't graduate, and then there were those few who bought their way in.

I was hoping it was kinda obvious that when I made my suggestion, my tongue was planted firmly in cheek. Although I think it would be amusing for myself to have my class changed to that, I certainly wasn't seriously recommending it for everyone. In other words, it was a joke, folks.
