Dink on Steam now!
Guys I love Dink. I played this game so many times. It's one of the greatest open world rpg games ever. And it's most funny for sure. I even would pay for having it on my steam library. I know... but having it in my library would be great. Please put it on Steam. If you are developer you can earn money. Nothing to lose!
If we talk with Redink and/or Seth, we could try to get it on Steam and use any money (If it has to have a cost) to be used for the Dink Network.
Just add it as a custom game. I've never understood this fascination some people have with having Dink as part of the catalogue of some crappy game launcher.
Screw that. Ask them to improve Dink HD first.

Eh, I'd rather have it at GOG and put Dink Smallwood, the classic version as a bonus. That way it'll survive much longer. Both 1.08 and the HD if Dink Network goes off and besides.
Steam is god awful with managing old games. There is a high chance that the old game you buy won't work or have glitches due to the compatibility issues or in some cases, lack some stuff (I am looking at you, the inferior Steam version of Quake and Quake 2)

the updates aren't reliant on the platform.

Out of interest I had a look on their forums to see if anyone had suggested it and they had done so multiple times.

No it wouldn't if mods were uploaded and downloaded from Steam Workshop only. That would just cause more harm than good, mainly it will make the game less mod friendly and even an unfair competition for other versions.
Some stores are victims of that as well, Shadwen for example has a map editor which lets you create your own mission, but here's a problem. It uses Steam Workshop and it's locked to it.
