Eh, I'd rather have it at GOG and put Dink Smallwood, the classic version as a bonus. That way it'll survive much longer. Both 1.08 and the HD if Dink Network goes off and besides.
Steam is god awful with managing old games. There is a high chance that the old game you buy won't work or have glitches due to the compatibility issues or in some cases, lack some stuff (I am looking at you, the inferior Steam version of Quake and Quake 2)
In fact,people made a wishlist for it to make it happen.
