Need instructions to install dmods.
My problem is boring to Dink advocates. I used to be one, but when the new file format came out a few years ago, I haven't been able to play them. I know I'm doing something wrong. Probably part of it is that I downloaded the files to the wrong place.
Are there instructions for this? I have dozens of DMODs that I can't use!
Another problem is that when I do play the Dink original, if I Alt-Tab to reach my desktop, when I return the game, the colors are garish and all over the place. I can't even see much.
I Alt-Tab often, so I need to fix this, too.

new format? i think they've always been .dmod. did you install them or are they paper icons? if they're paper icons, there's no program associated with them and you'll have to choose to open them with a specified program and navigate to wherever dfarc is to select it.
if they were installed but not in dfarc, you might have to go into dfarc's options and choose the path where they are located. if you're using windows vista, i have no clue where that horrid operating system puts dmods. it might hide them in appdata somewhere.

Go to the RTSoft site and download the newest version and then follow these instructions to install them all.
It sounds like you're still using the original freeware release of Dink judging by the remark about funny colours.
The .dmod format has been in use since at least 2003 or so and a lot has changed since then. We even have windowed mode now.
