new format? i think they've always been .dmod. did you install them or are they paper icons? if they're paper icons, there's no program associated with them and you'll have to choose to open them with a specified program and navigate to wherever dfarc is to select it.
if they were installed but not in dfarc, you might have to go into dfarc's options and choose the path where they are located. if you're using windows vista, i have no clue where that horrid operating system puts dmods. it might hide them in appdata somewhere.
