Mine is the finding secrets and smaking enemies into a zillion splattery red bits (sorry pillbug) how about the rest of you??

My favourite part is getting so stuck and lost in a DMOD (not cose I'm lame but because Simon K makes them kinda hard) forcing me to minimise fullscreen dink and opening WinDinkEdit to view the map and see if I can read any .C scripts... before crashing my computer by maximising dink again

Also, you should get an account. It would be much easier to identify you, and to make sure you're not actually Skull (just kidding) impersonating you.

And the ability to modify your posts and such is a necessity. And PM's and stuff like that...yeah.

I'm not popular or important enough to get PMs. And I wouldn't be surprised if people didn't read PMs I send out...

It's trying to beat the game that gets me. I love a challenge, I will scour the internet for games that are fun and extremely hard. like the Being One games by Psionic3D on Newgrounds

i like the old style graphics, and the challenge of beating any dmods that come out. dink is a classic game and it shall live forever!

Started this thread as its helpful to see what others like in their Dmods when u havin a go at making one. Ulterior motive I guess Plus I never look at the scripts or cheat by seeing what I have missed on a map or to see where a warp takes u to *blinks innocently*

I like the good music (Prelude is my favourite in that area), understandable yet intriging plot, and an overall fun to play DMOD, if that helps.

P.S. I only check the scripts when I can't go any further...

I love seeing how many different things can be done with a single ten-year-olde mod-maker. Some are actually really innovative and immersive!

I still don't get why you fellas like music on your games - I find it distracting. Gimme a hole to crawl thru or a fake wall to find and I am happy as! Like em hard to do but really hate it when I dont know what to do next.

The amount of PMs I have gotten from people either being sympathetic or cruel is... well... still an insignificant amount, but 2 PMs in a couple of hours is a lot better than my previous average of 0.5 PMs every two years...

Does that mean I'm PM worthy?

The favourite thing and probably the only thing keeping me playing Dink is it's humour and the ability to create D-Mods. I hate the gameplay in Dink, actually... especially the run and hit -tactic while fighting.

Dunno.

Innovation. I'm amazed to see what some people can do with the Dink Engine some times. I myself was screwing around with the editor a while ago and scripted something I never thought was possible, and it's not even a complex script.

I think it's fantastic that Dink has so much possibilities and a trusty community as well.

Has anyone else noticed that we have had quite a many girls joining the forum lately?

No, all I've noticed is that many topics are getting further and further off topic from the original post (although most are in off topic anyway) wasn't this supposed to be about dink?

No Skull. No such thing as girl on internet. Also, 1 isn't quite a many.

There is MsDinkAlot, Bornfree, Joycielaanie (returned) and a few more who's username I can't remember. Those all joined/returned in the last few months and I don't think we have had new girls on the forum since... long time ago.

LOL, I often do that with online games as well.

Playing as a girl is really a different gameplay experience as playing as a guy, with all those socially disturbed nerds online.

Yeah. It's not because I'm homo, bi or tranny. I just find female characters to be more aesthetically pleasing. I play some male characters too - my runescape char. was male.

me too but mostly because the stereotypical hero in games is male. though nothing wrong with male hero's there's just so many of them.

Also to get back on topic. I love the fighting system. Though the hit and run can get quite tedious(every meelee game has that tediousness in it).
I also like moddin(though progress on my active mod is even slow for a snailspace) and i'm experimenting ion scripting.
and the best offcourse is playing other's and mine(even if it is just testing) D-mod's.(and for most of the reasons already posted humor, getting stuck(predictable linear is so boring) and difficulty on some d-mods.

I was hoping to horde this idea for personal developement purposes, but I'm too lazy to actually do anything with it. Yet. It was inspired by the game Fable:TLC - a new dink attack system. It might incorporate rolls/ dodges/ defense and also include combos and criticals. Of course, new graphics would be required, but how hard can that be?

schnapper, I have code that does something like what you want here for my dmod I'm working on (Wyrmsun) (and thanks to metatarasal and magicman for the big help in writing it). There are criticals, and a chance to miss or hit, but I couldn't make it so hit sounds happen only in actual hits. To represent them I've made text appear above the character that hits saying "*Hit*". If you (or anyone else) are interested, I can send it your way.
