Alliance Command
Alliance Command - Dan Walma

Introduction: This is another conversion to the Dink Smallwood engine by Dan Walma, in this case a WarCraft II themed game was ported. Although a fairly small DMOD, it is actually an extremely playable Dink Module.
Storyline: The storyline is basic, and perhaps too basic to warrent a higher mark. It's virtually non-existant although I'm sure WarCraft II fans would understand the game more, and it's been developed for them so it won't hinder my score too much. As far as a non-WarCraft II fan is concerned, the story is to basically kill, and level up to complete the game. An arcade-oriented shoot-em-up, as Dan refers to it as. (7)
Gameplay: The game is extremely playable, and at the same time constant fun. You don't have to be a WarCraft II fan, or even have to have heard of the WarCraft series to enjoy the game. The port to the Dink Engine is very well done, and many new features have been included to the engine, including a mini-map, and new interface features. The aim of the game is to kill, and it's a brilliant example of how repetitive killing and leveling up can still produce a great game. (9)
Graphics: The graphics are of WarCraft II, and actually look very smart in the Dink Engine, and I believe are a good conversion after playing the first 2 of the series. There is a new minimap, and a slightly strange status bar, as well as an entirely new interface. The graphics represent WarCraft entirely, and definately boost the excitement of this DMOD, although not the authors creation. (8.3)
Music: New .midi and .wav files are included, and they are used to great effectiveness. The soundtracks to the game suit the purpose very well, and as does the .wav sound effects. Some .midi soundtracks may get extremely repetitive at times, but this can be excused due to the drawn-out fighting nature of the game. (8)
Conclusion: An extremely well presented port of the WarCraft II game to the Dink Smallwood engine, a brilliant new interface and numerous new features to the engine make the game an enjoyable experience to play. Highly recommended for endless minutes of fun. A well deserved 8.1.

Gameplay:7.1:Good: I liked the gameplay of this game because i found the spells very amusing. I found it very easy to kill enemies though.
Style:8.1:Good: I liked the humor with the spells and i liked how you made everything look like the actual Warcraft II.
Graphics:5.0:Fair: All WarCraft II like. All graphics were different from the actual Dink Smallwood game but they were kinda a rip-off of WarCraft II.
Music:6.0:Fair: A few nide midis that i liked but other than that nothing special.
Overall:8.6:Good: A nice game that will kill an hour or so off your time. Maybe less. I personnally liked the game because I'm a WarCraft fan.
Fit for: Anybody who used to like WarCraft II, still does like WarCraft II or just wants to try out a weird version of Dink Smallwood.
This is a good Dmod with all the warcraft 2 stuff and it is fun...for a while. The main problem is it is repetative and gets boring quickly. Graphics and sounds are great, but, yes, repetative gameplay.
In this Dmod you play a mage from Warcraft II who must kill all orcs. The walk around the areas shooting blue flames at them. It's fun for a few minutes but starts getting repeditive and boring.
Graphics:9/10 Warcraft II has great graphics they've been nicely ripped.
Sound:8/10 Warcraft also has great sound and music.
Gameplay:5.3/10 Weakest point of this Dmod gets quite boring after a short while
Overall: 6.5/10 This Dmod is programmed quite nicely but it's only fun for a while but gets quite boring after a shortwhile

Okay this was pretty weird for me. I’ve got to own up to the fact that I’ve not played Warcraft before, so this was a fresh experience.
Graphics: Well this was redone… it’s a total conversion of sorts. Even if the graphics are from some other game the amount of time and effort to make them work in Dink is an achievement.
Music: I’m guessing it’s from the original game, so it’s good.
Sound: Didn’t notice anything new here.
Gameplay: Well it’s basically fighting with magic. You get spells and stuff when enemies die. It was interesting for a while, but after dying a number of times I’d had enough.
Overall it’s a 8.5, technically well done… but ultimately didn’t appeal to me.

This is a D-mod in Warcraft II style. There is no real story to it, it is just kick some ass! It is an arcade style, with a new screen after 60 seconds. The graphics mostly are Warcraft graphics, and there are many of them! Some new ones, like on the load screen, are done very nicely. The music is good and sets the mood. The buttons for the different spells are very small, so in the beginning you do not have a clue which one is which; you have to just give it a try and you will figure it out. Overall a very nice game. If you like Warcraft, you stand a fair change you will like this D-mod too since it brings back all kind of memories.
This dmod looks good and the gameplay is sweet!
the only thing that makes this dmod a bit
crappy, is that i almost fell asleep while playing, because fighting enemies for 60 seconds
in every screen gets a bit boring after a while.
i guess the author tried to avoid this by
using ships and vehicles in the game,
and a lot of different enemies.
i'm glad to say he succeeded in making this game worth to download.respect.
Dan Walma, i see a bright future in the gaming biz
for you!

This game is fantastic, I like Warcraft1 2 and 3 ( if I could buy it
) and so does redink1.
Strengths:
The Graphics, now those were great, 9.0 but bad boy redink1, you stole them, 8.0
The Sounds, they were cool!
The Engine, not changed, everybody thinks redink has changed the engine, but thats not true, if you can script complex things like redink1 you could make this too.
Weakness:
The game is boring after playing it for 5 minutes.
Overall:
I liked this game, 8.5

A great DMOD! I liked it, because it uses warcraft II graphics and Dink SmallWood engine. You start as a wizard, then as a ship, then as a machine.... You have to go from room to room, like in Dink, But firs you have to fight with monsters 60 seconds, and when time goes out, kill everything what is left. There are 3 magics: Fireball coins, Sheep magic and 1 other.
Graphics:
Cool Warcraft II graphics.... Nothing more to say. I liked everything, really. :-}
Plot:
Well, just kill monsters and go from level to level.(I think) =|
Sounds: A lot of new sounds, starting spel casting and ending with exsplosion...
Overall:
A very good DMOD, but if you played it 30-60 minits it could be borring....Worth to download, anyway.

I would say this is a very good D-MOD. It uses an engine similar to Dink but has some great new enhancements
MUSIC: Quite repetitive at times but once the songs has finished, it has finished and you dont hear it till the next screen.
GRAPHICS: Great, using Warcraft 2 characters it is very enjoyable to watch.
GAMEPLAY: Pretty good except for the trolls that throw axes. They always seem to hit you. Fast and no crashes. The ship part is annoying, it often slows down and you cant use magic. No save option, you just load each level from the beginning.
SOUNDS: Like Warcraft 2. Very amusing.
OVERALL: Great game, played it again and again.

This is a very cool D-mod, when you play it, you won't even reckognize it's Dink anymore. A complete new engine has been made for this one. Fantastic!
GRAPHICS 8,5: Very good! Only new (though warcraft II) graphics. Has been put well together.
SOUND 8,7: Even better! Voices and cool sounds. Music slightly more boring, though cool even still.
GAMEPLAY: 7,9: It's not Dink, no RPG. It's fun though. And new for a D-Mod.
LASTING APPEAL 8: Quite short, but you'll be playing some levels more often, just for the fun of it.
TOTAL: 8,3
