Maybe depending on the sort of files the person releases and how good they are, the person could get a rank like the ones dmods get etc...
I.E.
Released 5 files:
1.5, 4.8, 9.3, 7.5, 5.4,
Average out the ranks and you get 6.4(2).
The highest ranking authors could be put on a separate page with links to them to make brilliant dmods and other items by the same author easier to find.
