If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Its been a bit since I've played it, but talk to verybody about everything you can, and then go into one of the rooms, I'm not sure which one, but I think it has a miniature goblin house, and read the letter. Then, you can go to the doorway at the bottom of the mansion and finish the game.
