Ladies and Gentleman I have quite alot I'm exuberantly happy to say!
Now I've been reading webcomics a long time...maybe a few years. It's amazing what normal people can do with the right dedication and time, but even more so that they can offer to do such for free to entertain us.
Now normally when I discover a new story based webcomic I read up to the newest one then book mark it. I normally read about an hours worth a day a few days to a week depending on how far the story has gone.
This is different...this story. Well let's just say I limit to an hour reading a day since I have other stuff to do and often reading too much of a story at once can cause you to not think of on specific parts so a reader should slow down. Addittionally for the past few months I've been going to college/working seven days a week total. For the sake of the story and not having the time to read too much I shouldn't be reading more than an hour...
Ya know what screw it. I'm way to excited to continue writing in this manner over the subject and I've written so much here that I'm sure you, the reader, trust my opinion and don't need a detalied explanation so...
OMG THIS THE BEST COMIC EVER! IT'S GOT STEAMPUNK AND MUTANTS AND VICTORIAN SETTING WITH WAR AND FRAGMENTED SOCIETYS AND DIFFERENT CULTURES AND DOZENS OF WILD CHARACTERS AND I CAN'T STOP READING IT!
Ahem...
I give you the Victorian Era, Steampunk setting of...Girl Genius!
Although I have some minor things to mention. For one the title does the comic no justice. I mean the setting is superbly unique yet the title is generic and the storytelling is deep yet the title is simple. I think "Agatha Clay: Victorian Genius" would be alot better or something like that.
Also I initially only started reading the comic, because I was curious about the art. You see I saw it as a banner ad on the Buzzcomix top 100 at #2 and immediately recognized the art of Phil and Kaja Foglio from a few old MTG cards. Mind you I don't care much for the art or artists who've helped make the cards, but I couldn't help, but recognize the art they've made for MTG due to its unique style.
The story also often proceeds at such a break-neck pace sometimes I wonder how the characters don't collapse from exhaustion. Of course I don't think it's bad storytelling, like that the author wants to proceed fast to keep the reader from thinking deeply on it, since the story is just so good and varied.
Hope you all enjoy it!
Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller
P.S.
I have become a loyal reader of El Goonish Shive ever since Davince posted about it in another thread. I'd like to thank him for that.
