Ah, but have you ever experienced *true* cold? It changes you, you know. When you meet it, you think it's just a regular cold, but when you come out of it, if you survive, then you know; *that* was a true cold. It's got the bite of a normal cold, but it goes deeper. It doesn't matter how many layers you wear, it cuts right through them.
Signs of a true cold:
Living in a well insulated house, you need to wear a parka indoors.
Your indoor plumbing freezes.
The diesel trucks don't get shut off: you wouldn't be able to re-start them if you did.
You pack the outside of the shelter with snow.
Hypothermia.
Liquid water explodes violently. So do trees.
