Donnie Darko. Quite a good movie... basically, this teenage kid is having really weird dreams, where a 6 ft bunny talks to him about the end of the world happening in 30 days. While he is following the rabbit out of his house, an airplane engine comes out of nowhere, crashes into his house, and lands in his bedroom. And thats like the first 5 minutes.
Evil Dead. Good 'horror' film made on a budget...
Evil Dead 2. Good horror/comedy film made on a budget, with Technicolor blood.
Army of Darkness. Essentially Evil Dead 3, its more of an action/adventure where Ash goes back in time to fight the Deadites.
Unbreakable. Great movie. It has similarities with The 6th Sense, but doesn't have any supernatural stuff. It does have superhuman stuff, though. I suppose people who like comic books would really enjoy it, but I liked it quite a bit and I haven't read a real comic book ever.
Life is Beautiful. A very funny movie, set in Italy before and during the Holocaust. The first half follows this one dude, as he tries to get this one girl to like him... and does a lot of funny crap in the process. Its weird, though... it isn't a typical comedy. Its just a different kind of humor. The 2nd half has them and their child go to a concentration camp, where the fellow never gives up hope, and makes it seem like all a game to the little kid.
Reservior Dogs. A job goes south for a group of criminals, people have been shot, etc. and there is a rat... its basically told in flashbacks, and is pretty neat.
