One of the many concerns about polyphasic sleep is that the participant gets sleep deprivation!

This simply isn't so. The polyphaser get their rest in a much better form, spending almost all of their down time in stage four sleep, the recovery stage of the sleep cycle. The monophasic (regular) sleeper tends to waste a lot of their sleeping hours in the other stages, which is not know to have any benifit to the sleeper.
