If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Try testing Dink in windowed or 16-bit mode too. If that's slow too, it must be something like the video card finds it difficult to render more than 256 colours (or the video card is set up wrong).
Also check out the system resources while running the app. Is WinDinkEdit taking up a lot of CPU?
