My initial decision to place him on probation only affected his username. Usually this works well enough, such as with several post-happy users in the past. Most people try to make things right.
Evildink decided to logon as an anonymous user and post a dozen or so messages full of smileys that seemed to break things a bit.
I've deleted most of the messages he posted.
He can't even view the site. If he comes back on a different IP address, that will will be banned as well.
And a note to certain people with dragonistic names: replying to every single annoying post doesn't help anything, and in fact makes things several times more worse. Seriously. In the case of true trollish behavior, ignoring the culprit is the best course of action until a moderator comes along.
