I can think of a few books you might like:

The Amulet Of Samarkand - it's basically a fantasy involving wizards and the like. You might just stop at that sentence, thinking it to be a generic magic story, but its plot is truly very unique. One of my favorites, this one.

Sabriel - Another fantasy. Its subject is witchcraft, but with a morbid twist. I would also suggest the two sequels to this, Lirael and Abhorsen

Life Of Pi - An intriguing fictional story about the life of a zookeeper. I'm still in the process of reading it, but from what I've seen so far, a great book

Inkheart...
The Ropemaker...
Firebirds...

These books are probably easy reading for a junior, but because I am probably one of the youngest members on this board, they are the only ones I can think of that I've recently read and enjoyed.

BTW, I suggest picking up Ender's Shadow, a "parallel" story to Ender's Game if you haven't done so already
