Reply to Merge Forum with Messaging?

I just had an idea. And a weird one at that.
Right now the Message center is sort of... out of the way. You have to click on the link, go there, find a new message, etc.
What if the Message Center was just like another Board forum, except it would only display messages/threads that you sent or received? And maybe you could send messages to multiple people, so you could have your own private thread on the board (pretty much)? Heck, Staff wouldn't even be able to see it, so you could plot behind our backs and plot our downfall.
Just a thought, but integrating it just sounds like a neat and nice idea right now. But I'll probably realize why it would never work tomorrow.
