If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
I did that. Twice even. The clouds go away, I spend forever attacking them (note: high HP villians who don't do anything interesting are incredibly boring), kill them, and then I am unable to cross the bridge on the next screen. And when I come back, then the whole boss things happens again.
