As far as I remember, D-Mod stands for Dink Module. I read it referred as such, although googleing turned up few results.
Oh, found the origin of the word. On the Dink Smallweb (which is apperently still online).
Seems Mike Snyder came up with the term, then Seth accepted it as offical. Here RtSoft refers to Mystery Island as such.
