More recently I attempted to download ProtonSDK and compile RTSimpleApp in a newer version of Xcode on Mojave and it was an absolute nightmare to reconfigure the build target to be just for 64-bit macOS so I gave up very shortly into the process.
Also of note for Mac users who stumble upon this thread is that there's a formula for Freedink in Homebrew which seems to work okay and also includes FreeDinkEdit as well as M1 ARM support apparently.
