Jester He/Him Australia
You feed the madness, and it feeds on you.
"5500km? That's like, from one side of Australia to the other. Wow."
Yep. Went across country. From Bunbury (a city 2.5 hours south of Perth), to south Western Sydney. Took a detour through Victoria, rather than the direct route, so I could drive the Great Ocean Road.

"Completely unrelated question, but do you still practice the dark arts"
Of course I do!

"Impressive. I hope you didn't have to do it solo. I did a 3500km drive solo and that was not an experience I'd like to repeat"
And nah, I didn't do it on my own, had someone else following me the whole way. The road across the Nullarbor is extremely isolated, nothing out there but dirt, grass and bush for a couple thousand km. One roadhouse every 200-300km to fill up and no mechanical assistance. Had to help one family get going again cause they lost a tyre going 120km/h, luckily no one got hurt. Also had to jump start two other people lol.
It's crazy that people do these trips solo and so unprepared.

I spent $5000+ between my two cars to make sure everything was as risk free as possible, and then fuel costs to get both cars across exceeded $2000. Some of the fuel prices out there in the middle of nowhere reach up to $2.10 per litre.
Not a cheap trip lol.

Just a little insight for anyone ever planning to travel across Australia
