Reply to Why I think Story is the most important part of a game

Story is nearly essential to a video game atleast in my opinion it connects us with the characters it makes us feel for the game.
Thats not to say it impossible to not have it but I feel like to have a wow! experience there needs to be a story in there otherwise it lacking.
Thats why I couldnt get into Doom(The game engine itself was a masterpiece though due to John Carmacks genius programming skills) as much when I got older my favourite FPS are Goldeneye 007,Halo 1 and 2 due atleast a reasonable story.
