To quote Chris (on 4chan) "it's a unique boss Totem. It casts Shock Nova and Spark at you (using the new monster AI system to pick the right skill in the right situation)"

No actual telling where it is. Could be the ledge, rocky climb, or prison gate since the tiles all look the same. Actually, upon closer look, I think you may be right with the ledge judging by the types of enemies present in the shot.

I must admit, I'm not too fond of the concept art of the Shadow, but I think the in-game model pulls it together. He really looks like a serial killer. His wardrobe is a bit strange, but hey, at least he's wearing pants
The art with the blue ghost thing has been on facebook for a while now so it wasn't all that much of a surprise to anyone whose been following there. That skill with the green ribbon effects is looking pretty cool. The picture is small, but I think he is diving forward so maybe it'll be like charging.

I hope they put up a trailer video of him soon. The others have impressed me in the past and I want more

Edit: A newish quote regarding the use of totems, traps, and mines (first time I've heard of these)

tpapp157:
Totems can cast any spell (no melee attack skills) including auras. Traps can cast the majority of spells but not auras.

Totems are thrown and begin casting their skill repeatedly at enemies in range. They have both health and a time duration as well as a quantity limit.

Traps are thrown on the ground. They take a second or two to set up during which they can be attacked/destroyed. Once they're set they are invisible and invulnerable to enemies. They trigger on proximity, cast their spell once, and are destroyed.

Mines are laid at your feet. They are triggered manually by the player. A player triggers all of his mines at once. They cast their spell once and are destroyed.
