I think if you want another forum, yeoldetoast's idea of going to the RTSoft forum is good because it already exists, it has a Dink section, and AFAIK Seth hasn't abandoned it. It has a lot less activity than the DN, but that would change if DN people went there regularly. Some points against it: It has a more sterile-looking design, it doesn't have the DN's history and culture, it might stay inactive if not enough DN people post there, it won't have the users there you want to interact with if they decide not to go, and it isn't integrated with the big D-Mod library here the way this forum is. But for Skull's idea of a place to go from time to time, it could work.

Another option is to use yeoldetoast's ignore script. Then people can just stay here and still have an easier time than they have been. I would like to hear from people who don't like reading certain users' posts and know about the script but don't use it to ignore them. Why don't you?

BUT it's true that the script won't really solve the problem of driving away new or former members who want a nice place to hang out, like Sharp. And moving to another forum would spread out the community, since not everyone would do it. So IMO, the very best solution would be to have a more active site administrator here, either redink1 or someone else he gives the admin login to, so I think we should concentrate on getting redink1's attention.
