In my view, Dink Smallwood 2 would not be written in C++ but in HTML5 / JS / Python (or some other back-end language). This would enable people to download the game once, play it in their browser and offline too when there's no internet connection available. D-Modss could easily be downloaded and additional information about a user could be displayed in their web profiles (D-Mods completed, etc).
