I'm kind of a noob at gaming, so nobody else probably needs this, but I thought I'd share my strategy for the beginning of The Fall of Tahmar, since I had to start over a few times to get it right. My usual rule of thumb is that offense is the best defense, but that didn't work too well this time once I got to the slayers. I kept dying because my defense wasn't high enough. But I needed to kill them because I needed money.

So I started over and built up my defense at each level up until I got to about level 4, which took some patience with mostly just slimes to work with. When I got to Southbrook, I didn't buy any weapons, and I let Flopper kill the slayers until I had 500 gold and could buy the herb boots. (Flopper is a great idea, btw. I hope other D-Mods use summmons like that.) Once I had the boots, I could do more damage in less time, and I increased my attack for a couple of levels. I only had to increase magic once to get it to level 5, which is what you need for hellfire. Sometime during all that leveling, I bought a bow to take care of the first boss. I increased magic once more so I'd have a little less time to wait to recharge the hellfire, but other than that I increased my attack for the rest of the game.

There you go. I hope that helps someone.
