If you don't have an account, just leave the password field blank.
Zip files have built-in checksums, so if it was corrupt your unzipping program would have told you.
As for your problem... I'm not sure. Map.dat is loaded automatically; there isn't a script that controls it.
Make sure that the map.dat/dink.dat files are in the correct directory... they should show up in C:\Program Files\Dink Smallwood\Dry\ if you used the default directories for everything. If that fails, try re-installing it.
