So here's some holy topic redemption.
In short I got 3 pc's to choose from, Windows 7, Windows Vista and Windows XP. The windows 7 and Vista pc's are my primary ones which I prefer to use for stuff.
I appear to have a problem with colors on Vista/windows 7 and flashing stuff in full screen for Dink itself, which I can luckily fix by running windowed. However, Dinkedit is a bit of a different story. I can run it fullscreen with truecolor, but the Sprites still have wrong colors (even with that dinkpal flag thingy) so I try windowed... And the sprites have weird color and weird sizes...
Anyone familiar with possible causes? I have tried to get it to run in Windows XP mode, but I get weird errors trying to do so despite having copied it to the virtual machine. I am fairly certain I have developed parts of DWTD on the old XP machine I have, only due to practicality I have it in the guest sleeping room with no internet connection, which is not an ideal dev location to make an understatement hauling it over to the living is also not really an idea I cherish.
Having read some of the replies here, apparently it should be able to run properly, since the only problem that seems to arise here is security/permission related.
Thanks in advance for any help attempts
