Of course, some cars do have limiters like that, and scooters and mopeds in Finland by law must not be able to go faster than 50km/h. But how many people would want something like that installed in their car? I like having the option of going fast, even if I don't usually break the speed limit.

Plus, that still wouldn't help with people driving 110 km/h in a 50 km/h area.
