Martridge, after being paid by Milder to set his house on fire, discovers that his victim, Dink, has magic abilities. So, he gives him an opportunity to learn magic.
While Dink is off looking for Nuts, Martridge puts a boulder in front of the Bonca Cave to set up his challenge. Then he gives Dink the task, watches him from inside the cave in the form of the duck, and unwittingly gets killed by Dink the Duck Beheader.
