Try not to ask questions here if you're going to find the answer 18 minutes later.

Right, trying to teach some people netiquette is a bad thing.

Here is how I see things:

This person asked for help. Note how he didn't just ask directly for the answer, he merely asked for a suggestion of where to look. He did so politely, and, apart from missing capital letters and apostrophes, even in correct English. Here's what he could've done after 18 minutes:

1) Post another post, saying "Help anyone?"
2) Do nothing, just wait for us to come up with something.
3) Continue figuring it out for himself.

Guess what he did. Number 3. Even though he searched and searched, he suddenly came up with some other idea and tried it. And hey, that just happened to be what was needed. So now he got his answer. Here's what he could've done next:

1) Say nothing.
2) Inform us that he no longer needs help with this issue.

And again! He made the right decision. In case anyone had read the post and was actually trying to help, they'd be informed that they no longer need to spend any time on it.

I agree, both posts can be improved on several points, even when not caring about the lack of capital letters and apostrophes. However, finding an answer yourself and notifying us of it, isn't one of them.

And netiquette or not, asking people to be clairvoyant is kinda silly

You're partially right, but it's still annoying to see it happen several times with only a few minutes inbetween posts, even if "I searched and searched" is being said.

Take it easy, you're way too easily offended if you start insulting towards only this.
