Playing D-Mods without the main game

Is it possible to play a D-Mod without the main game installed? Of course it would have to be there to some extent, but could I just give someone a D-Mod, the game engine and all relevant graphics etc. and it would work?

In theory, I suppose you could, but I'm not sure why you'd want to bother since it's included with the install exe which is necessary to run the game.

But is install.exe necessary or just dink.exe? Does it do anything to the registry?

I was only really wondering if it makes much difference - if it's just as much trouble (or more) to play a D-Mod alone than it is to install the whole game, then there's not much point.

This install.exe creates dinksmallwood.ini in the WINDOWS folder. It gives the path where Dink is installed, you need it to play DMODs.

You can, but only if the Dmod doesn't use ANY of the original resources or scripts. You barely ever find these Dmods.
