Map file copying / pasting

I decided that my D-Mod would be based on the original Main Game map (a little modified map), but I decided it at too late a time. I had already developed the D-Mod a plenty, and it was nowhere near the main game map file. So is there a way to "copy" the area from the D-Mod I was working on, and then "paste" it to the Main Game map file so the rivers, cliffs and such would be where they supposed to be, but with some more "temporary" objects like houses added?

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
If you want just certain screens, open your dmod in windinkedit, then press "L", select the original game, then the screen you want. If you need the whole map, i think you should copy map.dat, hard.dat and dink.dat from the dink folder to your dmod folder.

I need the whole map, but if I copypasted the whole map file, would the old one be overwritten?

Yes. You could also use two maps for your DMOD, but you probably don't want that.
