I am in the cave that contains the crate with the ice mallot in it,but it won't open!! How do you do that?
I tried every weapon I have and I also tried to wear the snow boots, but nothing!! Is there a trick, or is this a bug?

It's likely not a bug nor a trick. "I tried every weapon I have" - but have you also tried your fists?
