Screenshots and Photoshop?
Anyone know how to use Photoshop to fix screenshots taken with PrintScreen? I tried changing the image to Indexed color and loading in the Dink Palette but that didn't fix the problem. Still all funky and technicolor.
Yeah, oddly enough only early versions of Photoshop can fix screenshots taken with PrintScreen, such as Version 4 or 5. There isn't a good way to do so with Versions 5+. You'll have to find some sort of older program (I use Lview Pro 2.0) that can directly import a new 256 color image by pasting it, as the newer versions of everything consider it a high-color image which results in losing the majority of the color information because 90% of the color indexes are black.
You're probably better off finding a Game Screenshot-type program.

Thanks. Any suggestions on Game-screenshot ware? I'll peep Lview.
Well, you can make screenshots with IrfanView (IrfanView) and the palette (if needed) in Ted's Tools and Toys. Then, taken from an earlier post by myself (How to make screenshots):
1) Download IrfanView.
2) Download Ted's Tools and Toys.
3) Start a D-Mod and go to a place for a screenshot.
4) Press PrintScreen.
5) Paste it in Irfanview and apply the palette using Image > Palette > Import Palette (use Dinkedit.pal).
6) CTRL + S and save it in a format you like.

I downloaded Easy Screen Capture from tucows. It can take screenshots in DirectX games with no ill effects. It's cool and it's shareware. Even cooler is the fact that the stamp that it puts on images if you haven't registered the prog doesn't show up on Dink screen captures.
