hey you guys,
I'm thinking about making a website. the main topic would be Dink Smallwood. But,.... I want the site to be original. Do you guys have an idea? Suggestions? Tell me, I could use some help. Maybe you always wanted to do something online around Dink Smallwood, maybe i can help. (and maybe not)

Let me know!

Hmmm... since the DN covers may aspects it ain't easy coming up with new stuff... but maybe... hosting interesting screen grabs from DMODs/orginal Dink... where you or others submit the pic, and give the reasons why you find this screen grab interesting... maybe because of map design... a bug... something weird.

Or maybe a screen grab in which the visitor can post a new bit of dialogue for Dink to say, and with some clever javascript that can be updated.

Or maybe a web based Dink game, where you ... nah... too hard...

What is it about Dink you find appealing that is unique and exploit it...

yes, good ideas! Maybe I could let everybody send me screen grabs, i put them on the site, and make two contests: 1 for the best screen grab and 1 for the best comment. But maybe I should look for 5 jury members or less or more, because otherwise it wouldn't be fair. If anyone's interested, just send an email to: *nospamforme*

I would suggest a "Previews" site. Not accepting any old d-mod of course, because many do not get finished, but one only d-mods which can be proved to be in their latter stages.
You could show more detailed previews of big d-mods, before they are released. Things such as "Necromancer" and "Hidthspace Revolutions" could prove very interesting.
This could include screenshots, as well as small discussions wiith the author.

Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
Duh merlin, that doesn't work. The palette would be a mess.

Here's how to do the job.

1) Download IrfanView.

2) Download Ted's Tools and Toys.

3) Start a D-Mod and go to a place for a screenshot.

4) Press PrintScreen.

5) Paste it in Irfanview and apply the palette using Image > Palette > Import Palette (use Dinkedit.pal).

6) CTRL + S and save it in a format you like.

This idea is stupid and incomplete....

How about a weekly d-mod? One released every week to tell a story? I think this was tried before, but the author only published one d-mod.....

Hmmmm, maybe I could release a dmod that's tells a story like an interactive movie. But I can't do that every week......

Actually, the zipfile doesn't have an explanation included on how to make screenshots, it has the Dink readme.txt file in it. Put a link to my message or so.

Edit: link to http://www.dinknetwork.com/forum.cgi?MID=23294.

It works for me. And it looks good, too. Well, relatively good considering Dink's graphics.

I have a domain name dinkschool.info... You can use that if you want. But DinkMania sounds fine.

Chop your own wood, and it will warm you twice.
A MMORPG would be great, but also hard to do.

I dink webcomic would be cool. A group of dmod autuors getting together to realease a weekly short 'Strip' Dmod...

You could set up the story and set different people to make the different chapters. depending on the number of writers or authours it would be possible to get at least one out a week

'Nuff said. Stefanie hasn't said anything on this for almost 2 years, so giving her suggestions now is kind of...pointless.
