Still toying with dmoding?
Basically, what the title says. Not necessarily something that you intend to finish... just, for fun...
I have a couple of ideas that match ambition, ability and (lack of) time. I've opened the editor after God knows how. Pity it crashed soon after a couple of basic screens made, without me saving anything before

If you're getting crashes try using Drone's version of Windinkedit in this thread:
drone's windinkedt
drone's windinkedt
Note: It's not necessarily more stable yet, in fact Bluedy has reported some crashes. Need to resolve that somehow...
I just came back to dmodding in full force after years of absence. I'm using my artistic knowledge to make a dmod full of custom graphics complete with animated cutscenes. You can see snippets on my discord server but I think I'll make an announcement soon enough on here.
well, its where most of the dink activity is these days.
I loathe discord as well, but u gotta accept it's the new irc... if you want to chat in any community, it's always a ducking discord channel they have.
unless you are that guild i was in in ff14 that massively preferred teamspeak despite having discord. it was the only time i ever needed to install that garbo software.
Link to original Discord (Has the most users, but a bit inactive.)
Link to alternate Discord (More active, but less users, and more of a focus on development)

I absolutely despise discord.
What's so bad about Discord?
I loathe discord as well...
I can't say I like it's format much, and there are a few other things that bother me about it too. The forum here on the DN is structured much better. And I don't have to read through things I don't care about to get to things I do care about.

@SlipDink pretty much summed up my thoughts as well. I prefer forum over chat almost always. Long scroll vs nicely separated threads.
i mean, you do have to get through things you dont care about to get to things you do care about. that's where i come in
Wish I was D-Modding... but there's just no time
Miss it
So many ideas though!
I have 1 D-Mod on the go and a fairly fleshed out idea for another.
Also at least 3 smaller dev projects in various stages of completion, plus plans for more.
Haven't touched anything in ages though. Will have to learn about all the new engines & editors when I get back into it!

@Sparrowhawk
While the new engines are dope, you'll be disappointed to know there aren't really any new editors
Still good ol WDE...
(Although RW open sourced it recently and made a big update, to which I've been making my own little modifications too.)
@SlipDink
Perhaps we should've used Guilded instead of Discord. It seems functionally better, has way bigger upload sizes and you can even have forums with threads on a server.
I suppose there's also TeamSpeak5?... But it's currently in beta and I have no idea what kind of things it brings to the table, though I imagine it can't be worse than Discord.

there's time. loads. you just need to make the time.
