Any fool can use a computer. Many do.
You'll first have to find the combination which you have to enter there. You cannot try all combinations to find the correct one, you'll have to find the place where you can see the correct combination. Explore near the Scorpion Palace a bit.

yeah yeah I know it's an old post, and many of you have played this game a long time ago.
But it's my first time at this one.
And I am stuck..I need the combination to get into the scorpion palace.
I know to count the poles with the orbs but danged if I know how to figure out the combination. The walkthrough is not much help.
Thanks.

No need for counting really. There's a place very nearby which has the same arrangement of poles, with a glowing thing on two of them. You just have to find that setup, then copy it.

Personally, I found it and didn't pay attention. So I just tried all combinations when I had to copy it. Which worked. But according to the earlier post it only worked because I had actually seen the solution.

Thanks Shevek.
Actually, I woke up this morning with an idea of how to solve it. It was too easy; isn't that sometimes the way with Dink?
(Spoiler avoided: to tell would be to destroy the fun of discovery. It's enough to know the position of the orbs in the cave is important.)
Of course after dying once, I upped his stats to beat the mass of scorpions ..and then to beat the Boss lady scorpion.

In hindsight, this particular DMOD was a real pleasure to play - a nice balance of puzzle and fighting.

Yes. I didn't know about it, and tried it because of your post here. I liked it. So thanks!

ahh I see you gave me advice but you must have started playing after you saw my post.
So, while some say why reply to ancient posts, I'd argue that they are often still relevant, especially to new players like us.
The Quest was another beauty I played after it. Amazingly funny and very cleverly done.
