A little help, please.
My oldest brother recently got me FF7 for the computer, and whenever I try to play it, it won't work. I click on the game icon, the screen goes black as if it were starting the game, then it stops working. Any help?
Well, it's an old game, so it probably won't work on Windows Vista or Windows 7. Try running in Compatibilty Mode (Right click, properties, compatibility tab, Windows 98 in the drop-down box, and apply.) I can't say for sure if it will work.
qhimm.com bro, use Aali's custom OpenGL driver, it will run like a charm.
I tried the compatibility thing and it didn't work. I have the OpenGL thing, so maybe I can get my brother to get it into the main file (I cannot directly do it since I have to have a password and I am unable to get the password right now.)
What if the OpenGL thing doesn't work because the game's pirated? (Remember, older brother.)

Download a patch,that worked for me.And it works BEAUTIFULLY on Win 7!
Why would you ever get FF7 for Windows? Everyone knows that version is pretty broken, in more ways than one. Would have probably saved you so much time if you just got the PSX version (and yes, computers can emulate the Playstation).
I guess you should be glad there were some people who actually went and made the patches that prevent the game from at least crashing.

It wasn't glitchy at all.Maybe it's cause I have the patched Ultima Edition.

I do have the Ultima version, and it works pretty well on my brother's laptop. I have no idea what the 'psx' version is, and I know there are emulators (Though, I can't go off looking for an emulator and an ISO or whatever it is for a Playstation game).
psx = the original playstation
