Red flower in forest?

God I feel so lame. I've scoured every inch of the forest in the south and I haven't been able to find the red flower. It's the last quest I have to do for the gods. Please and thank you for the help!
Are you sure you have seen all of the forrest? It may look like your way is blocked, but is it really or can you think of a way to go a bit further in the forrest?

I still cant get the stupid thing. I've found the note and everything, and dug, but NOTHING happens
Dig just right of the hill with a tree on it. I'll post a screenshot once I get home.
It's just that tiny nub with a tree on it. You will see a stair case appear if you get the correct spot.
