I am copletely confused as to what happend.
I had the midi music playing fine in game since I started making my D-MOD but ever since I made the fireplaces play a fire sound the midi's just stopped working and still don't even after I took out the fire sound from the script

does anyone have any idea what's wrong?

Do midis in general still work? If not, go to "Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> Entertainment -> Volume Control" and make sure "SW Synth" isn't muted.

If it's only a problem with the one dmod/midi, make sure that you haven't accidentally deleted the midi and that there are no typos in the midi file or the playmidi() command. If you use the turn_midi_off() command somewhere, and the midi is attached to a screen, that would disable it from playing.

If it's none of that, it might be the curse of the Smallwood family tree, an avalanche, or flood.

Whenever you play a midi in Media Player (maybe other programs as well?) the SW synth volume gets turned right down.

Don't know why, but at least I know when
