The description claims that this game is a demo. Hmm. Completely disregard any preconceptions you may have to what a demo is - this game is more like the unfinished Dink's Doppleganger, which goes over one section of the plot. The main difference being, however, that whilst DD was formulaic, Back from the Grave is quite possibly the best D-Mod I've played.

In terms of atmosphere, the game is unsurpassed by any D-Mod I've played - a lot of loving detail has gone into the scenery, not just into making it interesting, but also into facilitating gameplay. The sound, also, is fantastic, creating a wonderful atmosphere.

The combat is finely balanced, and the boss battles tremendous - The focus is on action, rather than repetitive slashing.

The most important thing, however, is the absorbing aspect - the dialogue is intelligent and humourous, and the fashion in which new stuff is thrown at you makes for an exciting game. The plot twists, turns and loops the loop, with plot twists that surely couldn't be tied up...

And, of course, they're not, for that's when the game finishes. This sours what is a peerless experience, because once you complete it, you know that if this D-Mod was ever finished, it would have been the greatest of all time. This is a paradigmatic tragedy of a D-Mod that never was, and yet has so much substance, and should be downloaded by everybody.
