I'd like to know if there's a complete listing of DinkEdit hotkeys somewhere. For example, I would like to know if it's possible to:

-start playing, rather than "Save & Quit"

-delete a room entirely

Cheers.

I don't believe there's a list of DinkEdit hotkeys anywhere (though it would be nifty), but I do know this:

- You cannot start playing your D-Mod from the editor, unfortunately.

- There is no way to delete a screen in DinkEdit; however, there's a utility named MapNuke that will "delete" the room. You can find it here:

I also remember you saying you had Fileplanet woes, so if you need me to, I'll be willing to send it.

Cheers.

well, Tal, the need of MapNuke disappeared with the arrival of WinDinkEdit.. I'd rather suggest that, as you can then see the map you're trying to delete..

Yes, I agree. WinDinkedit is better than MapNuke. I's easier to see what you're doing and is cleaner.(now that the editor sprite number chaing has been resolved).

As for the keys, most of them are listed here:

http://www.dinknetwork.com/author_faq.shtml

And you can't launch Dink from DinkEdit, but you can ALT+TAB out of DinkEdit and run Dink at the same time. The only things to be aware of are that you're changes to a room aren't saved until you return to the map overview screen in DinkEdit and if you add a new room you'll have to restart Dink before he can walk into it.

For some reason I had completely forgotten about WDE...not just the map nuking capability, but the entire program. odd, heh.

Ah well, do listen to them and download WDE for some of your Dink editing needs.

And that a new script or changes to one, will only be effective when Dink walks to another screen and then comes back to the screen with the script.
